Experience

The Maine Campus .......... 2008 - Present
    The independent, student-run newspaper at the University of Maine is one of the oldest newspapers in the state and the largest publication in Maine aimed exclusively at the college market.
     Currently serving as the youngest-ever editor in chief in the newspaper’s 134-year history. As CEO of the company and the its top editor, duties include oversight of the newspaper’s production and mangerial responsibilities such as handling personnel issues and balancing budgets. Also still active as a writer and photographer for all sections.
     Previously served as production assistant and Web editor. Responsibilities included creating semiweekly layouts for the style and culture section, designing and updating mainecampus.com and writing freelance op-ed and news articles.
CoPress .......... 2009 - Present
    Currently serving as a business director at CoPress, a company that provides media organizations with the resources needed to maintain a relevant and current Web site.
Burlington Free Press .......... June - September 2009
    Served as a copy desk intern and for a month and a half and was later hired as an employee.
Faculty Development Center - IT .......... 2008 - Present
    Served as a student technician for the IT Department’s Faculty Development Center at the University of Maine. Du- ties included assisting professors with the implementation of technology into their classes, management of WebCT, Black- board and FirstClass systems, and Web development and design. Still serving as a consultant.
Congressman Michael H. Michaud .......... July & August, 2008
    Served as an intern in Congressman Michaud's Waterville office for about two months.
The Kudzu Gazette .......... 2004 - 2008
    The student newspaper of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (both college and high school), with a circulation of 3,500 copies per issue. Positions included Web master, head of production, co-executive editor and editor in chief. Was the first high school student to run the typically college paper.

Skills

High proficiency on both Apple computers running any version of Mac OS X, including OS X Server, and Win- dows computers running any version of Windows higher than Windows 98.
Macintosh Programs
Adobe Suite for Mac including very high proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Garageband, Audacity, Final Cut Pro, Quark XPress, LAMP server, Quicktime Streaming Server.
Windows Programs
    Adobe Suite, Quark XPress, WAMP server.
Web design and development
     HTML, CSS, and PHP. Able to use, implement and modify Javascript, CGI, Perl and Python applications.
