william p. davis : : about
I am an 18-year-old journalism major at The University of Maine. I attended high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts where I received my degree with a concentration in violin performance. Since moving to Maine I have joined the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, where I am assistant interim principle viola.

At NCSA I helped start The Kudzu Gazette, a newspaper representing the students of the school. I worked on The Gazette all through high school, starting as layout manager and ending as editor in chief. At The University of Maine I work for The Maine Campus as Web editor and production assistant. As Web editor I have focused on the expansion of multimedia. Immediately following my hiring I redesigned the Web site, and I continue to make changes as problems are brought to my attention. In Fall 2009 I will become the youngest-editor editor in chief in the paper's 133-year history.

I hope to become an international correspondent for a large newspaper, reporting primarily from underprivileged, and therefore underreported, areas.
